CLEANMYPC FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

Question:  I just purchased your software on CleanMyPC.com and I don't see the download?

Answer:  When you purchase the software from CleanMyPC you will receive two e-mails. The first e-mail is the confirmation and receipt. The second e-mail contains the software download link and Activation Code.  To install the software you simply click on the link and enter the Activation Code when prompted. If you did not receive the two e-mails, please check your spam folder. If you still can't find our e-mails, please contact us you may have entered the wrong e-mail address.

Question:  I received the second e-mail with the Link and Activation Key. What do I do?

Answer:  Click on the the link, the software download process will begin automatically - follow the steps below:

If the software download does not begin, check your download folder for sm_dm.exe and double-click the sm_dm.exe file to begin downloading the software  - follow the steps below:

  • If an Open File - Security Warning window appears, click Run to begin the process. If you are asked whether you want to allow the program to make changes to the system, click Yes

  • You will be asked if you wish to save a copy of the installation file to your computer. Click Yes
  • When your download is complete the Welcome to the System Mechanic Setup Wizard window appears. Click Next to begin the installation. 
  • The License Agreement screen appears. After reading the agreement, select the I accept the agreement option and click Next to continue. 

  • The Select Product Activation Mode window appears. Select the option that applies to you (I have an Activation Key) and click Next

  • Now you will be taken to the Enter your License Information screen.  Enter your Activation Key and email address, then click OK


Question:  I just purchased your CleanMyPC software download on CleanMyPC.com and my receipt says it will be shipped in 3-5 days?

Answer:  When you purchase software from CleanMyPC you will immediately receive two e-mails. The first e-mail is the confirmation and receipt. The second e-mail contains the software download link and Activation Code. All of the software purchased on CleanMyPC.com are software downloads delivered via e-mail.  We do not ship software to your physical address, it is always delivered to your e-mail address. 


Question: Will your software work on my slow PC and what are the requirements?

Answer:  Our software will boost your PC speed, diagnose and fix problems, eliminate clutter, automatically repair errors and literally make your PC run like new again. One license (Activation Code) can be used on ALL of your home PCs. 

Our Software works on the following Microsoft operating systems:

  • Windows 10

  • Windows 8.1

  • Windows 8

  • Windows 7 Service Pack 1

  • Windows Vista Service Pack 2

  • Windows XP Service Pack 3

Limitations for 64-bit operating systems

The following tools currently require a 32-bit operating system and are not available for 64-bit systems:

  • Configure Right-Click Defragmentation

The following tools have limited functionality on 64-bit operating systems:

  • Remove Installed Programs

Software and Hardware Requirements

  • An Internet connection (required for license activation)

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later

  • At least 120 MB available hard drive space

  • 256 MB RAM


    Question:  I have seen websites that advertise and claim they are CleanMyPC but when you click on the link it takes you to a different company name. Why is this? 

  • There's a lot of False and Misleading Advertisement on the Internet.
